“Peace Out!”

By Wendy Collier, B. Ed

This is a common phrase used by pre-teens, teens and young adults.   We all have our own unique perception so this phrase will mean something completely different for each of you.

Your perception is influenced by: your past experiences, your personality traits, what you have learned from other sources like music and television, and whether or not you agree or disagree with what your friends think.

It is important to value your perception of things because no one else can ever have the same perception. This makes it even more critical for you to be clear on what exactly your perception looks like.

Your A.C.T.I.O.N. step:

Draw the phrase “Peace Out!” in funky letters. Below it, write down the words and phrases that come to mind. Add doodles and cartoons. This will help you see clearly what the phrase “Peace Out” means to you. Then find ways to make it a part of your life.
